Beginning Sculpture [vpa 303] Introductory course covering 3-d fundamentals,
and fabrication skills form woodworking to beginning Oxy-Acetylene and MIG
welding.
Day of the Dead [vpa 397]Seminar course covering the history and practices around Day of the Dead. Included the creation of sugar skulls, papier mache, papel picado and altar and nicho workshops. This class was responsible for creating a large-scale community Altar for C.S.U.M.B. and surrounding communities.
Ways of Seeing, Ethics in Public Art. [vpa 308] A class covering cases of public art and ethics.
Digital Public Art [vpa306sl] A community based, service learning class, in cooperation with the Reclamation Project founded by Amalia Mesa-Bains and Richard Bains. Students create digital public in collaboration with community organizations. Work created spans, bus posters, pole banners, billboards and digital video.
Media Culture [vpa 305] An upper division class in Media Studies and Visual literacy. Students create digital artwork ( posters, web-based artworks) in respose to readings and lecture topics covering Visual Literacy, Economics, Advertising, Politics, and Race and Gender representations in the Media.
Senior Capstone [vpa 405] This is the Department of Visual and Public Art’s Senior thesis class. A one year (two semester) class that moves students through developmental stages of their thesis project. From ideation to professional development.

Beginning and Continuing Drawing Introductory and intermediate drawing class covering fundamentals-advanced skills.
Woodblock Printmaking Workshop Seminar style class covering the history of printmaking with a focus on relief printing. Included introduction to woodblock print-making, technique and short run edition printing.
Principals of two dimensional Design Fundamentals of 2-D graphic design.

Children's Book Illustration Introductory course, covering the history of children’s books, illustration and printing. Students learn fundamental skills in drawing and illustration media from graphite, ink, watercolor and ink.
